About us

The Schmelzer Diabetes Foundation was created to support individuals living with diabetes who are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford the medication or supplies necessary to manage their condition.

Diabetes is a lifelong disease that requires constant monitoring, medication, and medical supplies in order to stay healthy and alive. Unfortunately, many individuals and families find themselves in situations where the cost of insulin, testing supplies, continuous glucose monitors, or pump equipment becomes overwhelming. No one should ever have to choose between paying their bills and managing their health.

The Schmelzer Diabetes Foundation exists to help bridge that gap.

Foundation Overview

The foundation provides financial reimbursement to individuals who have incurred expenses related to diabetes care but are facing financial hardship.

These expenses may include but are not limited to:

  • Insulin and other diabetes medications
  • Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs)
  • Insulin pump supplies
  • Blood glucose testing supplies
  • Sensors, transmitters, and infusion sets
  • Other necessary diabetes management equipment

By helping offset these costs, the foundation aims to prevent individuals from rationing medication or delaying treatment due to financial limitations.

What We Do

The Schmelzer Diabetes Foundation supports both children and adults living with Type 1 & type 2 diabetes. Our focus is on individuals and families who have fallen on hard times and need temporary financial support to continue managing their condition safely.

We believe that access to life-saving diabetes care should never depend on financial circumstances.

Who We Help

Our Committment

Living with diabetes already requires constant discipline, resilience, and daily management. The Schmelzer Diabetes Foundation strives to provide relief during moments when individuals need help the most.

Through community support, fundraising events, and generous donations, the foundation works to be a source of hope for those navigating the challenges of diabetes.

Our goal is to ensure that no one has to face the impossible decision of rationing life-saving medication because they cannot afford it.
